Nothing in life is simple. Even when you think you’ve got you’re shit down, life throws you a curve ball and knocks you off track. Challenges are sent to test your patience and strength and it is then that you either flourish or fail. Either way you learn something.
I’ve recently had to have an operation for complications following my Cesarean last year. It was the last thing we expected and to be honest the last thing we needed! But you can’t control what’s going to happen in your life. You just have to ride the wave and hope for the best!
It was absolutely horrible being stuck in hospital and not being able to see my baby properly. As some of you may know we don’t have any family around us, so baby sitters are non existent! Life threw us a curve ball and this time we flourished.
No matter how far away your family are, in a time of crisis they seem to emerge in numbers! It was completely overwhelming, Grandparents were popping up left right and centre from Spain, Italy and down South! Whilst I was sat like a potato in my hospital bed, I didn’t get to see as much of them as I would have liked. But what mattered to me the most is that Henry was being cared for by people that loved him. That meant I wasn’t alone in hospital! I was fed up and being starved to the point of tears. I was literally dreaming about pizza. So having someone by my side stopped me from eating my hospital curtain!
Still recovering I am sat here now reflecting on the last week or so and I couldn’t be more grateful for the love and support we have received from everybody. I’ve learned that no matter how alone I feel sometimes and how hard it is to be away from the people we care about most, they are never really that far away.
I still have a little way to go before I am fighting fit but my Mother is still here, cleaning, cooking and taking care of the mad poo explosions coming from my poorly child! This is probably the only time since I’ve been ill that I am glad to be hiding in bed!
So now it’s time to rest, catch up on some blog posts and watch some shitty daytime TV!
I can’t wait to share my next post with you all!
